Call to Action
GENERAL IVCG PITCH (you can copy, paste, and edit as needed):

The Great Give is back for 36 hours (May 6-7). I hope you will join me in supporting IVCG, a volunteer-led nonprofit that serves our local community. The Great Give is community-wide event run by the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven in support of local FOR PURPOSE (not-for-profit) organizations.

One community-based volunteer-led entities open to all neighbors (non-religious - yet honoring the multiplicity of faith grounded in empathy) is your Interfaith Volunteer Care Givers of Greater New Haven (IVCG).
IVCG leads with care and compassion from an empowered position that centers on the good that comes from acts of neighborly kindness. Our main service focus is with seniors, many of whom struggle with loneliness and isolation as well as health and financial challenges. However, we also focus on helping youth by elevating reading literacy and we benefit all ages through our volunteer opportunities.
Through six active community programs and leadership support for the "Volunteer Engagement Group of Greater New Haven" (involving nearly 20 area organizations), we're making a difference with over 10 thousand acts of kindness each year.
-
Our volunteers deliver fresh food and free incontinence products every Saturday (52 weeks per year!).
-
We give thousands of free rides to medical appointments.
-
IVCG shares durable medical equipment through our $1 loan program.
-
Through the CT Garden Collaborative, we create community art projects, run social events, and elevate interest and engagement with public gardens in Connecticut.
-
Also, as one of 16 partners across the country and the ONLY one in CT, Experience Corps of GNH includes over 20 tutors are helping local students with reading literacy and social-emotional learning through schools in New Haven and Hamden.

With IVCG, we're not waiting for someone else to make our community vibrant. We're making it happen together. Locally with volunteers at the center.

Our work is possible because of generosity of volunteers and donors. Support your neighbors today. You'll be keeping volunteer engagement opportunities active and senior support services available (growing older is our *universal* journey!). Today, I'm inviting you to amplify human dignity and weave our community together. We hope you can be part of our story.
