Our Service Contributions

At IVCG, service is more than a mission—it’s a shared commitment to uplifting lives across Greater New Haven. Here, you will find information about our volunteer-based community service programs.

We are proud to transform everyday moments into lasting impact. From transportation assistance to intergenerational mentorship, explore how IVCG’s services foster dignity, connection, and independence for older adults and neighbors in need.

Experience Corps of Greater New Haven is the ONLY AARP Foundation affiliated literacy tutoring program in the State of CT.  Intergenerational by design, this program uplifts senior volunteers as major contributors to the wellbeing of today's youth. Students in the K-3rd grade range who struggle with their reading fluency gain personalized support to build the skills and confidence to take on new challenges in school and in life. [click for the 2025 report]

While providing significant benefits to clients – namely, a free, door to door ride provided on the client’s schedule and according to the client’s individual needs – IVCG’s service is also limited by the capabilities of our volunteers and staff, and the requirements of our program. [click to access the policy]

IVCG is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors and supporters. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, to whom we disclose it, and the security practices we follow to safeguard your information. [click to access the policy.]

IVCG, thanks to dedicated volunteers, provide non-emergency medical transportation support for seniors (60 years and older). Volunteers serve entirely by their own choice and at their own individual discretion. Participation is mutually cooperative and based on shared empathy. [click to access the procedure]

Members of the Board of Directors are trustees who act on behalf of an organization's constituents, including service recipients, funders, volunteers and employees, the government, and taxpayers. [click to access the policy.]

The Explore Public Gardens mobile app is stewarded through IVCG's program called the "Connecticut Public Gardens". Explore Public Gardens does not collect, use, save, or have access to any data of any kind on your mobile device.  [click to access the policy.]

A note from Dan Camenga, IVCG's Director

"Your Interfaith Volunteers elevate wellness through six core programs every day. This work reflects our mission. Our full potential can only occur with your help.  Join us as a donor, volunteer, or program member.
