New 2027 VinFast EV's Alongside IVCG's Community Vehicle
(Hamden, CT) — RIDES+ is seeking volunteers while welcoming older adult clients for medical transportation. This is your designated Independent Transportation Network partner for Greater New Haven, and the RIDES+ program will proudly be featured at the first annual CARS & COMMERCE Show this Saturday.
The Hamden Chamber of Commerce Car Show takes place Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hamden Town Center Park.
Hundreds of classic, specialty, and modern vehicles are expected. The RIDES+ program will be featured with a tent, information for neighbors, and the dedicated RIDES+ vehicle. Get a first-hand look at how the independent transportation network and our local RIDES+ volunteer-based program helps older adults remain connected to healthcare and maintain their independence as they continue living in their own homes throughout the Greater New Haven region.
Adding to the excitement, RIDES+ community partner Premier Auto Group will showcase two all-new 2027 VinFast electric vehicles, highlighting the growing role of innovative technology in strengthening community mobility.
"Transportation is about much more than getting from one place to another," said Dan Camenga, IVCG’s Director. "For more than 42 years, our “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” approach has led with care and compassion by supporting a relationship-based approach to elderhood.”
Camenga noted: “We’re excited to join in this first annual Cars and Commerce Show as we reintroduce community members to the newly updated RIDES+ program. Together, we’re advancing the art of volunteering with partnerships, a clear vision, and lots of open hearts!”
A Newly Unified RIDES+ Experience
The Hamden event comes as IVCG launches a refreshed RIDES+ program that brings its transportation services under one unified identity, making it easier than ever for older adults to access support and remain independent throughout our region.
Representatives from the RIDES+ program and from Premier Auto Group will be available throughout the event to answer questions about this community collaboration, the RIDES+ experience, and more. Those who visit the booth can even sign up to join the volunteer RIDES+ driver team or the RIDES+ client community.

Volunteers Needed
As demand for transportation services continues to grow, IVCG is actively seeking caring volunteers willing to provide rides and companionship to older adults throughout the area. Flexible scheduling allows volunteers to participate as their availability permits while making a meaningful impact.
Even a single ride can help an older adult access critical medical appointments. The key is that we do this TOGETHER because we know the secret… “Many hands make light work!”
