Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we have suspended Aging at Home Socials. Due to public health concerns, we have decided not to re-start this program until November 2021. We will keep you posted and notify our community as soon as we are able to restart our programs.
Aging at Home Socials are monthly informal meetings for seniors who want to connect with others, make new friends, enjoy warm conversation, and learn a little something! This program was merged with the Open Door program of Spring Glen Church in the summer of 2018 and enjoys a regular attendance of 35-40 friends. Monthly Breakfast Gatherings Monthly breakfasts gatherings are always held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10 A.M. at Three Brothers Diner, 1038 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden. The restaurant is handicap-accessible and there is ample free parking. There is no need to make a reservation, just bring yourself! Attendees must pay for their own meals. Lunch and Learn Our luncheon is held the first Thursday of each month (October through June) at noon in the Fellowship Hall of Spring Glen Church, 1825 Whitney Avenue in Hamden. The church is handicap-accessible and there is plenty of parking. Email us at agingathome@gmail.com one week in advance to reserve your lunch ($5, payable at the door). You may also attend the program without having lunch - just be there at 1:00 P.M. on the day of the program; there is no need to RSVP if you're not having lunch. Our Annual Meeting is held on the first Thursday of September and features a speaker of note. Please call the office with your address and we will send you a Program Book during August. The book will contain our program for the upcoming year as well as instructions on how to sign up for lunches. If you send us your email address, we will also send you a monthly reminder of the meeting. Past lunch and learn programs include:
