Medical Transportation

Free door-to-door transportation is available for:
  • Medical appointments
  • Outpatient procedures (including imaging and tests)
  • Outpatient treatments, e.g. chemotherapy, dialysis
  • Dental visits
  • Same-day surgery
  • Therapy, e.g. O.T., P.T.
  • Counseling
Anyone who is 60 years or older, regardless of income, who lives in our service area, is eligible to book free medical transportation.  Volunteers provide most of our rides (with a few supported by staff as "back-up").  Personal vehicles are utilized, and volunteers pay their own expenses.  We accept ride bookings every week day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Transportation is available Monday through Friday.
As soon as you make your appointment, call us to arrange your ride; the more notice you give us, the more likely it is that we will be able to successfully match you to a volunteer. You may call us as far in advance as you wish. The day prior to your ride, your driver will call you to confirm, so please answer your phone, even if you don't recognize the number. Due to the overwhelming demand for our services, we ask that program participants limit their requests to important medical rides and understand that our schedule does fill.

We ask that our clients register for transportation through providers in addition to IVCG.  If you need help getting connected to other providers, please call the office and we will be happy to provide you with the information.

If we accept your appointment, you will receive a ride through our agency.

You must be registered with IVCG in order to obtain transportation. You may register by calling the office during business hours or by submitting our Client Registration Form by mail or by email.

If you have questions about our client policies, please check out our Guidelines.
